Ark Valley LGBTQ Safe Zone Training

Ark Valley LGBTQ Safe Zone's team is excited to offer Safe Zone training to your community. The 2 1/2 hour training is highly interactive and will enable you, your business, department, and/or organization to demonstrate inclusion and openness.

Training covers how to be an ally, basic terminology, and micro-agressions. It is designed to increase understanding and awareness of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning issues. Participants gain a better understanding of homophobia, heterosexism, transphobia, and inequalities.

Safe Zone training is essentially a guided conversation how to make organizations become safe places for those who identify as LGBTQ. It raises awareness of what it means to be a human being among other human beings in a world of incredible diversity.

Safe Zone Training is perfect for teachers, waiters, doctors, kayakers, construction workers, nurses, astronauts, bakers...

Ark Valley LGBTQ Safe Zone asks for a $10 donation per person (or what you can afford, if anything) to cover materials (handouts and facilitation supplies) which you take with you. No one will be turned away. Trainings are offered in Chaffee, Fremont, Lake, Saguache, and Custer Counties of Colorado.
